Anahita is an Iranian goddess of waters, fertility and healing, whose cult spread into Armenia where she was worshipped as Anahit. Bronze statues in the guise of Aphrodite or Artemis have been identified as representations of Anahita in Armenian contexts. Her worship declined after the Christianization of Armenia in the early 4th century.
