Achimi was the buffalo god of the Kabyle people of Algeria. He was the son of the first buffalo Itherther and Thamuatz, responsible for the development of hunting and meat-eating in Kabyle mythology. After choosing freedom over servitude to humans, he later brought his herd to live with mankind, establishing the practice of cattle-keeping.
