Achiacharus

Achiacharus is presented in the book of Tobit as a nephew of Tobit and an official at the court of the Assyrian king Esarhaddon in Nineveh. Later traditions identify him with the legendary eastern sage Aḥiḳar, whose story appears in Romanian, Slavonic, Armenian, Arabic and Syriac literature. Scholars have noted parallels between his legend and other ancient narratives such as the Life of Aesop.
